Boise, Idaho to Portland, Oregon

Had a good trip today....mostly nice weather with just a few spotty showers.  Scenery was great.  Driving in Oregon, I-84, which is on the border between Oregon and Washington.  The Columbia River divides the two states.  First picture is our campground in West Yellowstone.  Tomorrow on to Seaside, Oregon.  Get to stay a couple of days, hurrah!!

Boise Idaho

In Boise Idaho for tonight, and not been a good stop for us.  What we thought was repaired, was not put back together correctly, and now may have a fuel leak also!  One of us will be on the phone tomorrow with the repair shop, if for nothing else, than to vent!!!!  Gosh, in this day age, if you don't do it yourself, it doesn't get done right!  Al's still under the rig, so not sure what tomorrow will bring.  Later.....

Tetons, Yellowstone, Old Faithful, Geysers

Yesterday, the trip from Grand Tetons was a white nuckle trip.  Road was closed in Yellowstone at Grant Village and had to wait 2 hours for the rangers to open the gate.  Once through the gate, the trip was easier than where we had been!!!  Stayed at a campground in West Yellowstone, Montana, about 1/2 mile from West Entrance.  Nice small western town, with all the businesses up and running.  Actually for a small town, there is a lot to offer.  Lots of snowmobiles sitting on the sides of buildings, for the summer I guess, but who knows when that will come here!  This would be a place to come back to, only in the summer LOL.....toured the Geyser Basins and saw Old Faithful erupt, which it does 17 times a day.  Today we were going to tour Northern Yellowstone, but snowed all day and they were expecting 9 inches!!!  Tomorrow we head west, hope it's not icy!

Grand Tetons-Scenery-2

The scenery is just awesome, and it must be extraordinary on a sunny day!  I'm now having trouble uploading....may be my connection up here in the sky :).  I'm sure you have the gist of the scenery anyhow.  Tomorrow heading for Yellowstone.

Grand Tetons-Scenery

Will have to do 2 posts with the pix.  The drive yesterday from Cheyenne to Rock Springs, WY was a nuckle whitener drive.  Windy windy windy.  Not my favorite type of drive.  But Al did it....with me cringing next to him in the copilot seat.  He did good!!!!  Today we drove from Rock Springs to Grand Tetons.  Good drive and the scenery was awesome.  Arrived about 12 noon, got settled and had lunch, and headed out to explore amidst sleet and cold!!  Again, not my favorite weather, but we had clear times to see things.  Lots of antelope on the drive here, and once we toured the Tetons, saw a brown bear, buffalo, elk, and moose.  The bear was a little too far for my camera :(.

Cheyenne, Wyoming

Traveled from MO to Cheyenne, WY.  Al spent the whole morning as we drove looking for antelope.  We are staying at Warren Air Force Base; originally an old Army base estab 1867.  Beautiful brick buildings and the housing on base is just awesome, well taken care of.

Anyhow, what do we see on base, yup, antelopes all over!!

Next stop Grand Tetons on Friday.  Have a feeling I'm going to see some snow!!!

Leaving Missouri

Had a great couple of days with our friends and today heading west again!  Love this area, at least in the summer!  Lots of farm country, and yesterday Ed took us out on a Bush Hog to tour the countryside.  First night there was a thunderstorm, which was just awesome.  However, lots of damage yesterday from another storm.  Guess beauty can be dangerous :)  This is the view outside our rig.  PS.  Forgot, the little piglets were beside us when we fueled up in Princeton.  Couldn't resist taking the pix.  Now, everyone knows why I love Farmville so muchLOL....

No Pix Yet

Haven't posted any pictures yet, probably won't till we get to Grand Tetons/Yellowstone.  Stopped tonight at Wright Patterson AFB for the night.  Nice to have hookups.  Nice level concreted sites.  Two days of travelling, and two days of rain and problems.  First day, spark plug leads.  Hubby fixed just fine.  Today, middle of the afternoon, the gas tank gauge starts dropping fast to "empty"....   Couldn't find a leak, so called Workhorse.  Have appt. tomorrow early to have it checked out.  Hoping it won't take long to fix.  Supposed to be at Ed and Nelva's tomorrow, but will have to wait and see.  Guess motorhomes go through the same as us older folks as we age LOL.......
